Handbag Trends Summer 2019

Drawing inspiration from the success of last seasons trends (straw totes and ball shaped clutches), designers have been working on new silhouettes as well as reworking older classics. Here is our topi picks of this seasons trendiest bags.

Oversized Clutch Bags

Enormous bags are here to stay this S/S 19 season. Fitting you whole make up bag, phone charger, diary, laptop and probably a change of clothes should be large enough.

Dior Saddlebag

The Dior saddlebag is back with a bang! It is an absolute classic that has been brought back with a modern edge. Coming in muted, nude tones and vibrant prints, this is definitely a bag you need to add to the collection. Of late, designers are definitely feeling nostalgic at the moment withe the resurgence of old classics splashed across the runways.

Ring Handle Bags

This style of bag was introduced by Armani and Dion Lee in their S/S19 shows. Sophistication, clean, luxe are all words used to describe this up and coming trend – which will be sticking around for the winter season.

Feathered Bags

What came first – the chicken or the egg?….who cares, feather bags are back in fashion and we are thrilled! Purchase them in all shapes and sizes from huge totes to tiny clutch bags. Pastel colours such as pink and blue are key for spring/summer 20189

Belt Bags

Bum bags as they were known in the 90s is having a shining moment. Was it just us or did we used to get embarrassed by our mums traipsing around on holiday with their bum bags on show.

‘But it is easy to carry things’ they used to say to us. Well Mum, you have been trendy all along, dust off the old bum bag because its back!

It was Gucci who ignited the trend again in their show last Autumn and we don’t see it disappearing any time soon.

 Lanyard Bags

Odd…we know, but this trend made its way onto the runways of Burberry & Erdem. Although it’s probably not something we would wear on a Saturday night – they do look useful for airport or holiday outfits.
